Teenager in critical condition after shooting in Ahuntsic-Cartierville


Tuesday’s violence happened a little more than 24 hours after a 39-year-old man was fatally shot in St-Léonard.

A 17-year-old man was in critical but stable condition Wednesday morning after being shot Tuesday night in the Montreal borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville.

Montreal police were informed of the incident after a 911 call around 10:15 p.m.

An investigation found that the victim was walking with two friends along Laurentien Blvd. when the attacker approached them on foot from Périnault St., opened fire and then fled.

The victim suffered one gunshot wound to the upper body. His companions were not injured.

A crime scene was set up at the site of the attack, a canine unit deployed and several spent cartridge casings were found nearby.

Investigators will question the victim’s companions. No arrests had been reported early Wednesday morning.

Tuesday’s shooting comes a little more than 24 hours after a 39-year-old man was fatally shot in the borough of St-Léonard.
